Fair warning, this post is image heavy! We had such a blast at the 2nd Annual Brews N' Knits event Sunday! Over 60 knitters joined us at Lakefront Brewery for a private tour, fiber treats, games, food, and hijinks a-plenty.
It was a busy morning, picking up balloons, cupcakes, and Chelsea brought her 7 week old Quinn along for the adventure. We got to the brewery a little early so that we could grab brunch before the event. Lakefront Brewery has done renovations since last years tour, adding a covered walkway at the front, and lots of festive decorations throughout the building.
We were a little surprised when knitters started showing up as early as noon! I guess they just couldn't wait for the fun to start, so we set up as quickly as we could before the tour at 1:30.
There was a general stampede in the direction of the yarns once we had finished, and it was lovely talking to so many friends and acquaintances that we have made in the past year. There were quite a few knitters who attended last year that were kind enough to join us again.
We started the tour with our wonderful Brewery Navigation Specialist Josh, and learned a lot about the history of beer and Lakefront Brewery with a few off-color jokes peppered here and there....honestly, I haven't laughed so hard in months. Josh was hilarious, and although I have been on the tour about 5-6 times, he was my favorite! Its easy to see why he does stand-up comedy part-time. (Seriously, follow him on Instagram!) We have a few different videos of parts of the tour on our IG account as well.
After the tour, there was time for more beer, more yarn, and The Knitter Games! May the odds be ever in your favor, my fiber friends. Prizes were handed out to the knitters with the most items checked off the list, and we also drew numbers for our door prizes. Afterwards we had appetizers, cupcakes, MORE beer, and lots of knitting and socializing. All in all, it was a wonderful afternoon with all of you! We hope you'll join us again next December for the 3rd Annual Brews N' Knits. Due to popular demand, we are also planning a winery tour for the summertime! Details to follow.
