Anyone who's known my family for any amount of time knows that Mom, my sister, and I have a very important tradition every year. No matter what, we always make time to go to our local Stitch N' Pitch at Miller Park.
This tradition has not been without it's challenges!
We've managed to go through last trimester pregnancies in scorching heat, hauling along lactation pumps to the stadium, and
numerous attempts of our kids to come with us.
For those of you who don't know, Stitch N'Pitch is an event hosted across the country at Major League Baseball games. Knitters, crocheters, and other needle crafters are given a section to sit together and partake of their favorite craft while watching the game!
We're really lucky to have such a fabulous Stitch N' Pitch tradition here in Milwaukee. The Brewers set up a section of the park for the event before the game where those who have purchased tickets to the event can check out local sponsors, sign up for the raffle, and receive their special edition bobblehead!
The bobbleheads are only given to Stitch N'Pitchers, so they are highly valued by collectors. Past bobbleheads have included Bernie Brewer, the World Famous Klement Racing Sausages, and this year is Hank the Dog! (For those who haven't heard the story of Hank the Dog, its really heart-warming and worth reading.) The bobbleheads always include a needlecraft in it, and this year the yarn is tangled around his little paws.
Our big news is that this year Brew City Yarns will be a sponsor at Stitch N' Pitch 2015! We'll bring along loads of our yarn to sample, and a special coupon and gift for attendees.
Join your fellow needle artists for the 9th annual Stitch N' Pitch Night at Miller Park on Thursday, June 11th. Please stop by and say hello if you plan to attend, and don't forget to sign up for the Stitch N' Pitch raffle. We're donating a special prize for one of the winners!
And if you can't attend, or want to get a head start on baseball knitting, you can always check out our Go Team! Sock Yarns to knit up something special in your home team's colors.
